Moon (Not quite full), Wind, Stars and Planets. And of course, Magic.
On a night like this we will find a bit of everything, if we look. But first we need to find our big coats and comfy shoes. Have our adventure heads on and be prepared to turn a little bit fey.
The moon nearly fully, keeps being covered by the clouds racing across the sky. The wind blowing hard, pushing the clouds along in front of it. The main constellations visible in the breaks in the cloud. Orion above me slowing moving south in the early night. His sword still not quite vertical indicating due South. Venus shining brightly. Looking up the sky swims, the optical illusion of clouds moving feels like I am falling.
The wind roars by. You can feel it coming, a gust coming down the hill towards me. Crashing through the trees, the energy wave preceding it and then the wind. The noise and pressure on my body. The trees around me shaking and waving their branches. Rattling their displeasure at this assault on their limbs. Bowing and giving to the forces of nature, being flexible but strong, as trees do.
The light flickers dark and silver as the clouds cross the moon. One moment darkness and all shadows lost as the darkness consumes everything around me. Then the wind move the clouds on and a gap reveals the moon again. Almost a sphere, only a small piece missing. Her light fills the air, a silver hue transforms the space around me as the clouds pass. The silver light races towards me as her cloak of cloud is removed. No torch needed. The air shimmers and magic is in the air. Shadows deepen by the sides of the wall and behind the rocks. Whilst the path in the open becomes visible again, the trees in front of me turn blacker as the light lightens.
This combination of light changing from dark to silver, clouds racing along making me feel dizzy keeping me company. The wind racing down the hill, pushing me along or stopping me in my tracks keeps me on my toes. Rejoicing in the energy charging through me. I open my arms and tip my head back. Taking the full force of the approaching storm. Wind blowing in rain, water from the ocean stinging my face. You can't fight this, you have to bend and give, as do the trees, absorb the energy and become a part of this. It will pass soon enough. Feel the energy, feel the life it gives, the wind and water, the light. Become part of the magic, because it is beautiful and filling. Allow it to fulfil you, don't fight it. Acceptance and reciprocity.
When the weather may not look that great and when inside seems to be a better option, I invite you to step out in your bad weather gear. Just give it a try. Find the fun in the wind and moon, look for the brightest stars and the magic hiding in the shadows. See how the world around you shimmers and wobbles as the wind and moon play with the light and energy. Throw up your arms, spin around and maybe even sing your favourite song. Give the night creatures something to talk about when you have passed them by, because they will gossip about you late into the night.
